Osteoporosis is the loss of bone mass that typically occurs with ageing or in patients immobilized from injury or illness. Women are more commonly affected. Patients with advanced osteoporosis are subject to fractures.
Clinical experience is limited but research suggests that the cannabinoids slowed the rate of bone loss while promoting increased bone density.
This is another possible therapeutic use of cannabis awaiting further study.
